The FUE / FUT combo hair transplant
In December Marc gifted himself an early Christmas present when he chose Dr Ismail for his mega 4,768-graft (over 11,000 hairs) hair transplant.
After first contacting Matthew in May 2020, Marc — like many others — took his time considering a life-changing hair-loss treatment and finally took the plunge in early December.
At a time in life when many men come to notice hair loss is increasing, 36-year-old Marc had started to research his options and the surgical options available to restore his hairline. Marc was faced with a quandary — FUT or FUE. With information and advice from Matthew and Dr Ish, Marc was still undecided which method to go for. Then his patient coordinator Matthew and Dr Ish proposed a solution that meant his hair loss could be altered in one procedure.
A brief explanation of the two hair transplant options follows.
With FUT a strip of skin (and obviously hair) is taken from the back of the head. Although it is still thought by some to offer better graft yield, the resulting linear scar means patients opting for FUT are not able to shave the donor area below a grade 2.
And FUE, the contemporary method of hair restoration: the process involves individual follicle extraction and a barely-noticeable dotting on the donor area after the healing period.
So back to Marc and the rarest option of treatments for hair loss that we have ever offered or even known of — The Combo. You get the biggest possible harvest of hair grafts in one procedure, all completed in one day (10 hours).
