Charlton Athletic, Milton Keynes Dons and Northern Ireland international professional footballer Ben Reeves recently underwent a successful hair replacement procedure with the Hair Repair Clinic. 

The treatment, costing around £4500, was undertaken at the practice’s Harley Street facility under the direction of Surgeon Dr. Hassan Nurein, an experienced cosmetic surgeon who is a respected member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He was assisted by our experienced team of hair technicians.

Ben was referred by one of his friends and decided that he was going to be open about his decision to have a hair transplant. It is no longer something that men have to worry about, as hair restoration surgery has gained mainstream popularity due not only to the very successful treatment of celebrities, but also the fact they are happy to acknowledge and talk about it.

Dr. Nurein is very highly skilled in both the Follicular Unit Transplant (strip method) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). He is fully aware that hair loss for men (and also for women) can affect peoples’ self-confidence, very much in the same way as body image does, especially for those continually under public scrutiny. That he is an acknowledged expert in his field sees Dr. Nurein’s travel to national and international conferences and workshops to continually improve his skills further in his successful efforts to provide maximum levels of care for his patients.

Originally planned for last year, the Hair Repair Clinic postponed the procedure because of Ben’s footballing commitments, and it only went ahead recently.

Ben had approximately 1800 grafts (3600 hairs) transplanted using the FUE method (this is a quite minimally-invasive hair transplant method where individual hair follicles are transplanted under local anaesthetic and with virtually no pain). The entire procedure took around six hours, with a break for lunch. After a couple of weeks Ben will see the hairs fall out leaving healthy bulbs under the scalp.

It will take only about three months for Ben’s new hairs to break through and they will continue to thicken for the next 12 months.
